What are some advantages and disadvantages of marketing managers?

Author: I am doing a paper and I need to know what are some advantages and disadvantages of being a marketing manager? I am having a hard time finding the answer to this with examples.
I would appreciate any and all sources so I can look up the info.
Comments from actual marketing managers would help as they would know the advantages and disadvantages of their job.

well disadvantage is marketing is the first division to get cut when profits are down
you could sell more stuff cause a good marketing campaign attracts people
disadvantages, they could suck and you wouldjust loose money hiring them
Advantages:
You have more freedom in your schedule and aren’t tied to a desk for 40+ hours a week.
You get to meet new people all the time.
You get to travel (trade shows and such) to build more clientele.
You paycheck has no limit- you are paid based on how well you and your team do.
Disadvantages:
You could end up working for weeks on one account and not have it go through- and you don’t get paid for you efforts, only results.
You can be on the road for extended periods of time and away from your family.
You are responsible for all the members of your team and their production levels. (If your team doesn’t work, you will not get commissions from them.)
While you may not be tied to a desk- you can also expect to get calls late into the night from your West Coast clients. Yay
