Would a BA or MA in Business Management be a suitable degree to apply to law school with?

Question: Would a BA or MA in Business Management be a suitable degree to apply to law school with?
I previously asked a questions on whether an AA in Paralegal Studies would help me become a lawyer and I was quickly told no and that you need at least a BA “with a major in history, business or finance.” So is a BA in Business Management suitable as a BA in Business?

Yes, I think that we would. It’s an innate emotion not just a verbal concept. We would be attacted to someone else at some point.

If you were a health insurer would you flip off the mother of a dead girl who died because of denied coverage?

Question: If you were a health insurer would you flip off the mother of a dead girl who died because of denied coverage?
“A CIGNA employee gave the finger — literally — to a woman whose daughter died after the insurance giant refused to cover her liver transplant.

Hilda and Krikor Sarkisyan went to CIGNA’s Philadelphia headquarters, along with supporters from the California Nurses Association, to confront the CEO Edward Hanway over the death of her 17-year-old child.

In 2007, Nataline Sarkisyan was denied a liver transplant by the company, on the grounds that the operation was “too experimental” to be covered. Nine days later it changed its mind, in response to protests outside its office. It was too late: Nataline died hours later.

“CIGNA killed my daughter,” Nataline’s mother Hilda told security. “I want an apology.” Sarkisyan was not able to speak to Hanway; a communications specialist talked to her instead. After their conversation, employees heckled the group from a balcony; one man gave them the finger. CIGNA called the police and had the family and their friends escorted from the building.

A CIGNA executive apologized for the incident in a letter about a month later.

“I was very disappointed to learn of the behavior of one of our employees when you were at our company’s headquarters,” wrote John M. Murabito, executive vice president for human resources.

“I sincerely regret this individual’s offensive and inappropriate action,” he continued. “Please know that he did not represent the views of our company or the views of other employees who work here. We deeply empathize with you and wish you peace and comfort in your loss.”

I guess you would rather have Cigna between you and your physician knowing you can’t vote them out!
“it must be available, not free…free health care is like free advice, worth every penny” No one is saying it should be free. Even those who are retired and HAVE health insurance from a private when they turn 65 THAT becomes primary. And they are forced to buy part B at $ 1,200 a year or a little over 1/12 of their income. Nothing is free. But it needs to be available at a reasonable cost. An average health insurance policy costs $ 3,000 more a year than a minimum wage earner working 40 hours a week.

Liver transplants are not “too experimental” as per the denial. Liver transplants have been done since 1963 (46 years) and in 2006 7,500 were done. Sounds like the “Rainman” to me!

Health care MUST be FREE for ALL PEOPLE no matter how much money they make.

To the answerer below(Dicken Cider):
Why not free food? Free housing? Free transportation? Free utilities?
Because, health care is an EMERGENCY, like the police care when you are robbed or someone of your relatives is killed. Health care must be free. All the things you have mentioned (food, housing, transportation etc.) should be not! Probably you seee the difference between going to see a doctor and going shopping.

What exactly would a human resource intern do?

Question: What exactly would a human resource intern do?
So I’m applying for an internship with a big company in which most internships are design/art/print related for a human resource position. They have brief summaries in the descriptions for the internships but aside from working with different people, filing paperwork, and using computer skills, they don’t offer any other information.

I mean sure, I understand it would be working with people, but I’m curious as to in what ways? If i get called for an interview, I don’t want to get stuck if I’m asked “What interests you in Human Resources?” and end up saying something like “I like helping people!” and not give a more adequate answer.

Any light on the subject?
Yes, thank you, that helps but I would also like to mention that I am a college freshman, 18 years old so I assume that would also play a role in the work I would do…right?

Human Recourse interns usually help with the hiring process within large companies. Some basic job duties would be phone interviews, putting together interview/information packets, creating/updating applicant files, etc. I hope this helps and good luck!

How Would You Like Free Business Finance?

How Would You Like Free Business Finance?

Believe it or not there is such thing as gaining free finance to start up your business or to advance your business. The main type of this free finance comes in the form of business grants.

Before you approach any lenders or investors for business finance it is highly important that you work out exactly what you need your finance for within your business as business grants will not be awarded for the general running costs of your business; they are awarded to aid a specific outcome such as upgrading your premises for a new aspect of business or to train your staff to deal with a new business venture. The list goes on and on but the most important consideration to keep in mind when it comes to gaining your business grant are the factors that will affect whether you are granted a business loan or not. There are several factors that could affect whether you are awarded a business grant such as the location of your business. This is because you are more likely to be awarded a business grant if your business is based in an area that would highly benefit from your new venture.

As well as location you will also more likely gain a business grant based on the size of your business. This is because certain business grants are restricted to small and medium size businesses (SMEs) these refer to businesses with less than 250 employees.

If you are planning on applying for a business grant then I recommend that you make personal contact with the person or organisation who is supplying the grant. This personal contact should be ideally made by phone or face to face with a grants officer; it isn’t advised to just send in your application without prior contact. Just talk through the reasons why you are seeking a business grant with them first as they will be able to inform you whether your idea is suitable and worth applying for.

In the UK the total amount that is available to businesses via business grants is an estimated £5 billion per year; this may sound like a lot of money but don’t be fooled, the competition that you will face for a piece of this money is extremely high so when you are making your application you need to ensure that you thoroughly research your idea.

When it comes to gaining a business grant it can be a daunting task due to the pure volume of awarding grant schemes that exist. These are also constantly changing, with many ending and new ones beginning. There is however good news for businesses for the fact that most small businesses are eligible at some point to apply for a business grant scheme.

Whether you are a new business or you are an established business you can apply for a business grant as long as you have a specific business project or purpose to fulfil with the business grant. Also you need to be aware of the fact that a business grant won’t provide you with all of the money that you need, you will have to put half of the money towards it yourself.

So to get your business grant underway make your application today, you never know, free business finance might be coming your way soon.

What would be a good email address for a marketing and fundraising assistant?

I’m trying to choose a good email address for my new position and department. It needs to be something fairly generic so that the next person behind me can take up where I leave off. I’ve already got the extension (@businessname.com) so I just need the prefix. I don’t really want to use marketing@businessname.com, which seems too generic. Any ideas?
