Has anyone here majored in marketing? What’s it like? I’m a really creative person, but I also want a major that will get me a job after I graduate.

WITHOUT HAVING PERSONAL CONNECTIONS.
What would you suggest me to do if I really want to work in entertainment but didnt specialize in this area but in finance?

I remember my finance professor telling me about these three tests in finance you can take to improve your resume. They’re all very difficult and have to be taken a year apart.

I was thinking about taking the very first one to see if I could improve my resume.
Never mind. I was thinking of the Chartered Financial Analysist tests. It doesn’t look like I’d have much a chance of (or need to) passing Level 1.

We have had 2 layoffs this year so far. A few people in management are leaving, ex directors. Is this a bad sign???
Also I just got a raise.

or are you going to get a career that is high paying?
Do you plan to live modest to retire early OR are you just going to work a lot of years?

Why did you choose to major in finances(if you did)?

It really is sad. I just browsed the “credit” section in yahoo and about half the questions posted on the first page are asking how to get loans with the poorest credit rating possible. How could so many people be such slaves to debt and are so incapable of living within their means?

Could somebody please explain how does affiliate marketing work, and how do people make money from it.

We are a 2 person start-up company. We have purchased a company with 10 years history, very good credit rating, and at zero employees, in NorthEast USA. Since we are tight on budget and are working as full time consultants ourselves, we are unable to market and expand the company. We were wondering if there are any websites/resources (besides posting an Ad on a jobs website) which we can explore to communicate to potential IT services marketing personnel in the NorthEast USA, to see if we can work on a commission-only basis initially. Once we start serving 2-3 clients and place a few consultants, we can afford to switch to a salary + commission option. This can be a great option for a marketing person who has contacts in the market but would like to work from home or work flex-time.
