Humans impact on alternative energy resources. Well first of all humans burn fossil fuels which basically caused a demand for alternative energy because of the harmful things fossil fuels did to the environment (pollution, CFC’s deteriorate the ozone layers, acid rain and what not). Humans in turn also make alternative energy resources, engineers work on ways to make fuels that aren’t harmful in any way ( like you mentioned wind and solar power) so they are the main contributors to alternative energy. It’s a strange question considering you can take it in many ways. I would say humans have a large impact due to their use of fossil fuels.
Why people are still confused about what happened to the neanderthals?
Question: Why people are still confused about what happened to the neanderthals?
I don’t see why people say it’s still a debate as to what happened to the Neanderthals. Scientists always say that Neanderthals and humans “competed for resources,” but don’t exactly elaborate on what that “competition” was.
Look at the Woolly mammoth, cave bear, saber-toothed tiger, etc etc. Do we say that these creatures went extinct because they couldn’t “compete with the humans for resources?” NO! Because the notion that an animal and a human can compete for resources is absurd – the human has such an advantage that the status of man as hunter and animal as hunted is firmly established.
It’s EXACTLY THE SAME for the Neanderthals. The Neanderthals were ANIMALS in every sense compared to the modern humans. Their extinction was as inevitable as the Woolly mammoth and the saber-toothed tiger.
Look at how woolly mammoths and saber-toothed tigers died. They died for two reasons: 1) humans hunted them (in the case of the mammoth) and 2) humans hunted the animals’ prey leaving little left (saber-toothed tiger). So it’s likely that there is a combination of the above causes for the extinction of Neanderthals (direct, indirect).
But what would happen if humans hunted the animals that the Neanderthals also hunted, leaving them with insufficient food? They would resort to 1) cannibalism or 2) attempting to hunt humans (this would be entirely reasonable to them because they would be eliminating the competitor AND getting a food source, effectively killing two birds with one stone). If 1) happened, it’s obvious what happened, the Neanderthals ate themselves to extinction. If 2) happened, the Neanderthal aggression would be met with powerful retaliation, and immediately, the Neanderthals would be decimated.
It’s plainly obvious. It’s frustrating how scientists try to look for evidence and THEN make a hypothesis as if any deviation from the scientific method spells disaster. With a little common sense and intuition, it’s SO OBVIOUS that there was tremendous violence between humans and neanderthals, and further evidence will show that to be profoundly true.

Why do people ignore me when I say hi to them?
Question: Why do people ignore me when I say hi to them?
I’m at work and usually I am so shy whether it is at work or in public when I say hi to strangers! Not even because of that. I try to be friendly and outgoing as much as possible but I lose confidence thanks to snobs who are rude and never say hi back! So why is it people never say hi back when I say hi to them first? I am just being friendly and I know we are strangers and don’t know each other but that shouldn’t give them the disrespect to ignore me.
So today at work this woman who walks past me, she is walking fast, and she looks at me and I just quickly say “hi”. So after I just said hi to her, she just gives me a dirty look like I am retarded or have severe special needs! She treated me like I had some kind of disability and I dont understand what her problem was! It’s not like she didnt hear me and she knew I was talking to her but she didn’t say hi back. Should I even still be friendly even though she always ignores me?
So then a week goes by and I see her again at the vending machines and I am sitting on break and shes silent but she walks over to me again when I am sitting at the table and I just say: Hi. How are you today?” and I also added when she had a granola bar out of the vending machines: “That looks so delicious and healthy!” and again, she completley ignored me and I was thinking: “HERE WE GO AGAIN!! ANOTHER REPEAT! AND I THOUGHT SHE WAS JUST MAYBE HAVING A BAD DAY BUT SHE CERTAINLY WAS AGAINST ME AND DIDNT WANT TO BE FRIENDLY!” However, only this time she just stood there for like a minute with her arms crossed and I said in a joking way with kind of waving in her face: “HELLO?! CAT GOT UR TONGUE?!” And she says in a rude way: “NOT FUNNY! YOU BETTER LEAVE ME ALONE! I’M GOING TO REPORT YOU TO HUMAN RESOURCES!” So at that point with my heart racing, I give up! Why is she acting rude? I mean I hate getting treated like I have a disability because I do have aspergers and I am trying to improve my social skills with just a simple hi and smile.
I also noticed she says hi to everyone else except me. Why? Maybe I say hi to her at a bad time? I dunno what her problem is!

i’m sorry.
some people don’t know how to deal with people that are different. they either ignore them or talk down to them or act regularly i guess. try out your social skills on someone else, but continue to smile (in a non creepy way of course) whenever you see her and just say a quick hello without any possibility for a long conversation. then maybe she’ll get used to you. again, in the meantime, talk to someone else. =]
Do you think the whole “spreading the seed” is just an excuse for people being shallow?
Question: Do you think the whole “spreading the seed” is just an excuse for people being shallow?
So apparently men only go for hot women because they are biologically wired to seek out the “healthy” looking woman to “pass on his genes” (baby) and women only go for men with lots of money because they can “provide the resources” for child-rearing.
Well last time I checked not everyone wants kids, I thought we humans were capable of IGNORING our basic survival instincts?? so what excuses do those individuals have for being shallow if they don’t want to be a parent??

Anybody else ever get the feeling that we’re not even people anymore?
Question: Anybody else ever get the feeling that we’re not even people anymore?
When I entered the workforce every factory had a personnel manager to deal with issues pertaining to the “people” working for the company. Now we have a “human resource” department instead. We’re no longer viewed as people, just resources. We rank right up there with tools, and raw materials, and cleaning supplies.

Human Resources: It’s About the People
Human Resources: It’s About the People
Human Resources is THE topic in today’s world. There are downsizings, union negotiations, pay issues, telecommuting, health insurance, retirement issues and how to save the historic memory in talent. The networking today is social media and that involves people. So, why is the HR department still talking about “getting a seat at the table?” This is the boardroom or executive table where the decision makers are doing what they do best. Why is the HR department is not THE RESOURCE?
It is easy to understand when HR keeps asking the question. They are can be like 5- years-olds who think that asking the question over and over will have their mom change their mind. Instead they should be asking what should be doing to prepare people for the upcoming changes to our workforce and to our world. How do we retain the retirees; how do we communicate best with learners from all aspects and how do we keep (restore?) respect in the workforce. How do help the business make a profit? True professionals understand that is done through productivity (a future article). The communication of the business is the responsibility of all of management but is key for HR Leaders. Business communication means the why, the how and the ability to answer the questions. How can we focus on organizational development when we don’t know what the future of the organization holds?
All of these questions cross all lines of the issues facing our firms and organizations today. The strategy of the business is the reason for the organization to exist whether it is the not for profit or the most profitable firm in the land. The mission statements became the reason for some HR consultants rather than those in HR asking the question—what is it we are trying to be? The biggest? The best? The fastest? The experts? Instead we in HR react to hirings and firings trying to elicit control by asking for paperwork citing that we need to measure to get results and be counted. We threaten the potential in lawsuits. Really? That is the HR strategy? If the system is part of the business and the why is understood as meaningful to the strategy for the business then it will be done. Instead, “HR is to be avoided” according to transition coaches. “HR will hold things up or lose your paperwork-get to the hiring manager,” the unemployed are told.
Leadership coaching is all about the accountability and independent thinking provided by a third person. What better role for an HR Leader? Human Resources consultants can be inside and outside the organization.
Focus on the big picture. What is the organization trying to be? Then detail the HR strategy around that picture. Do you want to be the quickest to market? Then hire with that in mind; reward with that in mind. Too many times HR comes with the merit raise program, the performance program, the hiring process, and the learning process. HR is the lifecycle. HR holds the lifeblood of the firm. The only resource (though I hate that word) that can appreciate with the business is the people. What is the investment in the future?
The humans of the business are the business. Everything else is capital. The contribution of every person every day is the reason if the delivery is on time, if the day is accident free, if the innovation is stellar, if the hours fly by or drag, and if the customer comes back. Creating the culture for the business to prosper is not touchy feely. It is becoming that employer of choice—the employer the best people want to get into as soon as they can. It is the place the talented compete to enter.
Do you want to be THE community driven organization? Then hire with a heart for those with a heart who are looking for an opportunity to make their place on earth better.
The right person for you might not be the right person for another firm. I believe the competition for talent is a bit vague. It is just like a person saying: “There aren’t any jobs out there?” Really? I see signs everywhere. What is the job you want in what environment? Do you like big firms, small firms? It is about the right person in the right job at the right place at the right time.
What kind of HR leader could you be if you understood the business and the future? Ask what might be the obvious: What is our focus– short term and long term?
You will be prepared. You will be in a position of thinking and planning and helping the business succeed. You will provide feedback to and from employees and the chief executive. Keeping such communication and building a strong business will serve the community. Do we really take the time to explain the benefit programs or do we rely on the 800 number since that is only transactional. Now that doesn’t mean that we ignore technology-but we check the trends. How is it being used? To answer what questions? What questions are not being answered?
HR can no longer be the victim waiting to be told when the CFO needs the numbers to be cut and we know that will mean people. We can be ready to avoid that as the only answer.
If we don’t, then we get what we deserve. Unfortunately the community and employees of the business will get what they don’t deserve.

The human resource department of a business is responsible for bringing together a competent workforce and creating a healthy work enviornment for the employees by dealing with different manegarial and administrative problems. These issues seem insignificant in the face of much bigger issues the business may deal with everyday; it is still imperative to know that without a human resource team, your business may not be as well-organized and your employees may not be as happy as they are…
Recruiting: Without fresh, new brains, your business could be on a standstill. Even with the recession, businesses are employing each year and the human resource department deals with the entire hiring process. They identify job descriptions, run advertisments, go through innumerous resumes and candidate applications, shortlist according to the preference set by the job description, perform interviews, shortlist and propose employment. Large businesses with more workload on the human resource team are increasingly moving towards online hiring systems called the application tracking systems . With a fixed, predetermined fee, these systems lets applicants apply for a job opening online. The data can be viewed by the employment team consuming less time. The data can be saved by the employers for any future references. There are integrated email systems attached to the job board provide by these ATS’ so you can communicate with applicants efficiently. For more information on online hiring and application tracking systems,
Performance management: Once a business has recruited a number of people for different departments, they are closely watched. Performance management involves the HR force to evaluate employees on a regular basis by way of performance appraisal. Such evaluations form a basis for salary increases, promotions, even discplinary actions. Employees are given feedback on their performance and the report is passed onto the employers. This ensures the recruits are constantly on their feet and giving the work they are assigned their best. Performance management includes salary adminstration as well. All issues of increases, bonus, or lack thereof are dealt by the department which could result in the human resource team being chased around by unsatisfied employees.
Training recruits: The department is also responsible to train the new recruits for their new jobs so they can fully adopt the working conditions of the Business. These training sessions would involve devising proper educating patterns, all with going through the recruits each and every business activity they may get involved with. They could arrange for small seminars with speakers from all departments in the Business, not just the departments the recruits are employed in to ensure the new employees are familar with the business they are working in.
Counselling: This is one area which can only be dealt by the human resource team. The Department equips recruits and employees with tools to deal with the various issues of working in a new environment. Wit hthe help of staff meetings, they promote the concept of conferences. They could discuss and educate the employees about the ethics, cultures and traditions of the workplace to help them settle down. Dissatisfaction and/or disassociation with the workplace could affect morale and performance of the newly employed and conunselling seems to be the only effective way to ensure employee happiness.
Administration: Although most organizations have adminstration policies already defined by them, the human resource department has to keep revising these policies and bring them upto date with the new changes in the business. They have to devise strategies to properly adminster the employees by making reports and presentations, confirming performance appraisals of the staff; identifying their achivements and shortcomings according to the policies. They need to involve in timely monitoring of the adminstrative strategies and evaluating the policies on the basis of staff performance and their attitude towards these policies.
