What is the name(s) of the major for “finance”?

Question: What is the name(s) of the major for “finance”?
I’m looking through the majors for several schools and none of them explicitly list “Finance” as a major. Is finance incorporated in majors such as business and/or economics, because that’s all I’m seeing for majors related to finance.

I need HELP picking a Major for Business Administration!?

Question: I need HELP picking a Major for Business Administration!?
I need HELP picking a Major for Business Administration… The ones I think are possible best fits for me are “Advertising and Marketing, “Health-care Administration”, or “Human Resources”. Which one would potentially offer the best salary and benefits plus stability?

So hard to pick..
Thanks Boston Gal. I am on the Deans List and have a high GPA. I hope to get my Bachelors and get started entry level while also working on a Masters after that.

how GOOD you are will determine the best stability. Mediocre workers are the first to get laid off in any organization. if you are smart, innovative and a creative problem solver then you will rise to the top in any area of focus. If you are working on your Bachelors in Business, it really doesn’t matter which one you pick because undergrad only provides the basic foundation. You will need a masters to earn any real money. it is always wise to stick with the general such as finance or marketing in undergrad. then you can branch out. Human Resources as a major?

Question: Human Resources as a major?
I am thinking about changing my major to Human resources. Actually where I am, at Carleton University, you have to take a B. of Commerce with a concentration in Managing People and Organizations. I don’t know if its the same every where or is there just something called “Human Resources” in other universities?
Anyways, can someone please give me an over view of HR and the courses needed to complete a degree in HR – I know they differ from uni to uni, but a general look. What exactly I am to expect, what kind of effort is needed..etc or if someone is already in that field if they can tell me a little bit about what they’re doing.
Thank you

My dad was in human resources his entire career. He did really well, and I think he really enjoyed it. Your advisor will be able to tell you what you need. Good luck and remember that all industries need people that are good with people. Its a great field.

Basically, I want a federal job and I’m majoring in marketing, although I can still change to any business major. I’d prefer not to go into accounting though. I’m scared of getting a CPA. I’m in Chicago, so is there any places I can get experience?
