EIGHTBIT.COM Presents “Dominator” by Human Resource

Here’s one of the earliest music videos made for one of the earliest techno videos, Dominator by Human Resource. To this day, Dominator has been sampled and resampled not only for the signature vocal sample, “I’m the one and only Dominator”, but for the hoover sound in it’s main riff. www.eightbit.com

For those of you who had an abortion…do you feel you are any less human?

Question: For those of you who had an abortion…do you feel you are any less human?
I am not asking to judge..I am actually curious. I see too many people with their ignorance..throwing out remarks calling women murderers and killers, etc.

I had an abortion at 6 weeks for medical risks. Not something I wanted to do and although I struggle with depression..I think it’s pretty normal considering that even though science proves otherwise..I always sentimentally felt that was my baby..even when I was 4 weeks and it was just a bunch of cells. Yes–I know others feel differently and I respect that.

I just want to know how women who have had abortions feel. Do other women attempt to judge you? I mean..obviously women who have never been thru this?

About half of all females will have had an abortion..but I don’t think I hear enough from those that do and how they feel living in a century where it is taboo. Don’t get me wrong..I am not advocating for it..I’m just saying..it’s obviously something that is NOT done for fun…and the LAST thing almost ALL women want to do..but in this wonderful country with all these “resources”…I know there isn’t enough help out there for women.

I just want feedback..I am a nursing student and want to do a paper on this.

Thanks
Punkin– I agree. I could just never do it again. Even in those dire situations. It was the worst experience of a lifetime and something I don’t wish on ANY woman…even the ones who so coldly call us “killers” etc. I am not a cruel person…it’s the last thing I would wish on anyone. Congrats on your new babies.

How does this news article signify the importance of Human Geography?

Question: How does this news article signify the importance of Human Geography?
Soviet geologists once boasted that Kazakhstan was capable of exporting the entire Periodic Table of Elements. During the Soviet period, Kazakhstan supplied about 7 percent of the union’s gold, or about twenty-four tons per year. Since independence, the republic has attracted large foreign partners to develop existing or new mines. President Nazarbayev announced intentions to increase annual gold production to fifty or sixty tons by 1995 or 1996.
In 1989 the mines of Kazakhstan yielded 23.8 million tons of iron ore and 151,900 tons of manganese. The republic also possesses deposits of uranium, chrome, titanium, nickel, wolfram, silver, molybdenum, bauxite, and copper. Major phosphate mines feed fertilizer plants in the southern city of Zhambyl. Three major coal fields–Torghay, Qaraghandy, and Ekibastuz–produced 140 million tons of hard coal in 1991, but by 1994 Kazakhstan’s national total had dropped to 104 million tons.
In the mid-1990s, all minerals in Kazakhstan belonged to the republic. Authority for decisions concerning their development was delegated to the prime minister, provided that these decisions were consistent with laws on natural resource development. The fundamental law “On Natural Resources and the Development of Mineral Resources” was passed in May 1992, but its treatment of foreign development of minerals is limited to two brief paragraphs stipulating that foreign development be conducted in accordance with international and national law.
Data as of March 1996

Why Are Activists Now Saying A Free College Education Is An Illegals Human Right?

Question: Why Are Activists Now Saying A Free College Education Is An Illegals Human Right?
WESTWOOD – About 200 students and immigrants’ rights protesters shut down a section of Wilshire Boulevard in front of the Federal Building today to rally in support of a federal measure that would make it easier for illegal immigrants to become citizens.

The rally was organized by several UCLA students and other protesters to show their support for the DREAM act, bipartisan legislation that “creates a conditional path to citizenship” for young people, according to their website.

Under the act, undocumented young people have to graduate college or complete two years of military service to gain citizenship, the website stated.

The students also protested Arizona’s new anti-illegal immigration law that empowers police to check on the immigration status of suspects they stop for other reasons.

Demonstrators blocked traffic along Wilshire Boulevard, marching in a circle. Police closed streets around the Federal Building, and motorists were advised to find alternate routes into Westwood.

“I am upholding the legacy of the civil rights movement, when many people were denied their human rights, one being the right to an education,” said Charlene Gonzalez, one of the protestors Another protestor, UCLA student Andrea Ortega, said, “I am doing this so that students will no longer be terrorized by legislation like SB1070 in Arizona, and not have to go to school in fear that their families are deported back home.”

The group did not have a permit to hold their rally, and the LAPD got a call around 10:45 a.m. saying an immigrants’ rights demonstration was under way.

Officer April Harding said police had “sufficient resources” at the scene to maintain order during the demonstration at Wilshire Boulevard and Veteran Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol advised motorists to use alternate routes into Westwood, as traffic had been backed up onto the 405 in both directions near the Wilshire Boulevard exits.

Where do you see the “free college education is a right” Under the act, undocumented young people have to graduate college meaning they cannot afford it and we taxpayers will have to pay it.No Mexican is going into the Military when the college can be free…

Answer:

complete two years of military service to gain citizenship—I think is a good idea–the college would fall on the tax payers.

What exactly would a human resource intern do?

Question: What exactly would a human resource intern do?
So I’m applying for an internship with a big company in which most internships are design/art/print related for a human resource position. They have brief summaries in the descriptions for the internships but aside from working with different people, filing paperwork, and using computer skills, they don’t offer any other information.

I mean sure, I understand it would be working with people, but I’m curious as to in what ways? If i get called for an interview, I don’t want to get stuck if I’m asked “What interests you in Human Resources?” and end up saying something like “I like helping people!” and not give a more adequate answer.

Any light on the subject?
Yes, thank you, that helps but I would also like to mention that I am a college freshman, 18 years old so I assume that would also play a role in the work I would do…right?

Human Recourse interns usually help with the hiring process within large companies. Some basic job duties would be phone interviews, putting together interview/information packets, creating/updating applicant files, etc. I hope this helps and good luck!
