I have a small business and I want to hire my first employee. I want to hire my first employee in the field of Sales and Marketing. What skills should I look when hiring someone?

I read somewhere online about a theory, about promoting poorer employees to management, because they are less likely to cause problems, being away from the frontline!

When you hear some people talk about their jobs, of how their managers are micro-managing them, they tend to speak negatively about their employer. Why does mico-management lower job satisfaction and organizational commitment for employees? Can someone explain this to me?

Currently I’m working in a retail position and am looking to eventually move up into management. What attributes do management look at in their workers to decide whether the employee would make a good manager or supervisor?
