Would an Accounting degree help me get a job in investment management?

I am interested in pursuing a Business degree with a major in Banking and Finance at university, possibly to work in investment management in the future.

One particular university offers the possibility of a Business degree with a double major, one being Banking and Finance and the other being Accounting. Doing the double major only requires one extra year of study, which I don’t mind doing.

However, I want to know, would the Accounting major increase my chances of getting a good job in this field?

What is the difference between a career in Finance and a career in Accounting?

I am thinking about going back to school to get a BS in Business Administration.

I would like to know what the difference is in careers in Finance and Accounting. Has anyone had a career in either field? What I want to know is:

What did you think of your career?

What did you do all day in Finance or Accounting?

Did you find it exciting or really boring?

For a career as a Financial Planner or Financial Advisor, do you work off of commision only?

Any information would be very helpful. Thanks.

What is the overall better business major to have? Accounting or marketing/advertising?

I know accounting is math and mainly deals with a company’s money and finance and marketing is just promoting a company. Which is better to have?

How do I legally offer personal finance consultations without a formal (accounting) degree/background?

I only want to provide debt payoff, timely bill payment, and budget adherence information, in which the first matter is customized to the client. The latter two matters are simply universally applicable processes to follow. I would provide NO information on investing. I just feel that such a 1:1 consultation would help so many people get their finances in order–but of course I would need to have them sign a document that says what I provide them are only guidelines and not a sure-fire formula for success.

What are some job descriptions for marketing and accounting?

I am about to start college and I want to go into a business career after wards. However I am torn between accounting and marketing. Where can I find job descriptions with details of these careers or if anyone has an answer that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Would it be bad or good idea to get a bachelor’s in accounting and masters in business management? See below?

I want to be an accountant (probably a CPA), so would it be logical to get a bachelor’s at undergrad school in accounting and, since the grad school that I really want to go to doesn’t offer an accounting master’s, get a master’s in business management in grad school? Or is it pretty much necessary to continue with accounting in grad school if I want to be an accountant?
