Your boyfriend is stupid if he agrees to do this because what if you guys break up?

Then he is debt and you may not want to pay the rest of the finance off…

I wouldnt risk it if I was him.

BUT in saying that.. you should ring around some insurance companies and ask them.

Whomever the car is registered under must also insure the vehicle under the same name. You can be added to the insurance but most likely in most states, the registration and insurance must have primary person to have his name on file.

I am in Ohio. I know the car has to registered under his name, but at least in the state of Ohio, you can get the insurance in your name. I did this with a car that my son’s grandmother bought–registered in her name and insurance in mine, due to fact he was minor. ***

Your boyfriend would have to get a personal loan instead of a car loan if you want the car/insurance under your name only

The only way you can possibly do it is to put the car in both names with him being the primary owner..

I’ve bookmarked this site to go back to next time I need a loan…
